Prepare your holiday
Visas:
No visa is required for touristic or business visits of less than 3 months. In the event of a stay for more than 3 months, the request for a long term visa is obligatory at the local authorities (nearest police headquarter) with a justification of residence and resources.
Passport:
Valid or identity card under 2 conditions: that the entry is done in one of the following airports: Marrakech, Agadir or Ouarzazate and that the traveller possesses his return ticket and will stay at least 3 nights in Morocco. Moreover, the passport is sometimes necessary to make change in banks or in the event of urgent individual repatriation. We thus advise you to have your passport.
Customs:
It is forbidden to bring more than one bottle of wine or a cartridge of cigarette. The publications and editions attacking the law and order or the sovereign are also proscribed. Finally, defense bombs as well as distress rockets will be confiscated on your arrival and returned while going back to your country.

Vaccination
Obligatory vaccinations: none.
Advised vaccinations:update vaccinations included in the vaccine calendar.
Measles (1 amount of trivalent vaccine is enough): for any traveller of more than 25 years, not vaccinated against measles or without antecedent of measles, the risk must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis according to the duration and conditions of travel.
Tetanus, poliomyelitis, diphteria (reduced amount of diphteric anatoxine for adults) and whooping-cough.
Hepatitis A for any stay (children: starting 1 year).
Typhoid for prolonged stays or in case of precarious hygiene (children: starting 2 years old).
Hepatitis B for frequent or prolonged stays.
Rage for prolonged or adventurous stays.
Leptospirosis professionals with frequent contacts with places infested by rodents; and watery fresh water leisures (swimming, canoe-kayak, triathlon. bathes including water sports).
Children: update of vaccinations included in the French vaccine calendar, but more precociously:
- Measles with mumps and rubella (for 9 month old children, followed by a revaccination 6 months later with mumps and measles).
- Hepatitis B (as of the birth) in the event of frequent or prolonged stays.
- BCG (as of the birth) in the event of prolonged stay
Transport
Morocco has an excellent highway network. The trunk roads are generally well maintained but narrow and with intense traffic.
The road traffic remains dangerous. Indeed, Morocco knows one of the highest rates of road accidents because of the strong concentration of cars, the undisciplined control of many car drivers. Authorized maximum speed is 40-60 km/h in agglomeration, 100 km/h on road, 120 km/h on highways. An international driving licence is necessary for any car rental
Public transportationc
Trains constitute sure, cheap and pleasant means of transport. Downtown, taxis represent the simplest mean of transport and the fastest. Get informations about bus companies before taking them.

Festivals
M’Hamid festival Taragalte festival
Sahara and culture will take place on the 25th of February until the 28th, 2009, in M’hamid El Ghizlane, on the initiative of Zaïla association for the development and the safeguarding of the environment.
Desert festival and Sea of Dakhla
The Desert and Sea festival of Dakhla will be held of February 27 to March 1, 2009.

The International festival of laugh of Casablanca
Initiated by the Art and Culture association, it will be held from March 10 to March 15 in Casablanca. Shows will be presented in the Mohammed VI theatre, theatre Hassan Skalli (Sidi Bernoussi), theatre of Mohammédia and the Bahnini room in Rabat.
Fès festival of the Soufie culture
It will be held on April 25, 2009 under the sign “Cultures of the Sufism”. At the menu of this demonstration, sets of themes and debates on Sufism, evenings of Dhikr of brotherhoods of various countries.
Creations of the child
Under the topic “the Moroccan child celebrates his history”, the Moroccan association “Moultaka B' ladi for the citizenship” organizes, on February 27 to March 1, in the cultural complex of Anfa in Casablanca, the 2nd edition of the national festival of creations of the child.
Festival “Imal”
Dedicated to the Moroccan actresses, will be held on March 5 next to Ouarzazate.
Magic festival of Marrakech
Organized in partnership with the wilaya of Tensift-El Haouz, the 6th edition of the festival of the magic of Marrakech will be held on 19th until March 22, 2009.
Awtar
First cultural festival of Haouz will take place from March26 to March 29 in Benguérir.
Mawazine
The 8th edition of the festival Mawazine Rythmes of the World will take place on March15 to May 23 in Rabat, with the participation of artists representing 40 countries.
